About the Artist....

My name is Debra Trapasso and I am  the owner of Creative Trapasso Designs, a home business started in 2006.  After many years working with stained glass; I took some fused glass classes and fell in love with the glass. The process of glass melting in a glass kiln and creating beautiful colors and designs was exciting. I visited Bullseye Glass Company in Portland, Oregon.  They are a prominent manufacturer of colored glass for art and architecture with worldwide distribution and a strong commitment to research, education, and promoting glass art.  I walked throughout their large store with hundreds of colorful glass and their factory where they manufacture the glass. I knew that day that I was ready to buy a kiln and start working with fused glass to create and design my own glass pieces. The techniques with fusing and slumping (mold) glass in my kiln allows me to stretch my boundaries and continually learn to create new and exciting piece of art.

I have sold fused glass pieces at several Arts and Crafts Fairs through out the year in my surrounding region.  I also teach beginning fused glass classes at parks and recreation departments around the region.  My current favorite creation is making special fused glass announcement plates for baby, wedding, and other special events.  Other creations include colorful plates, bowls, candleholders, small vases, wine bottle stoppers, and jewelry.
